Eid fashion trends in Pakistan keep changing every year. Designers now highlight a new style for Eid 2026. Long farshi shirts dominate this season’s fashion scene.
Last year, the farshi shalwar ruled Eid wardrobes. The style took inspiration from the fashion of the 1970s and 1980s. Social media, fashion runways and celebrity wardrobes widely promoted the trend during Eid 2025.
However, stylists said the trend did not suit everyone. Fashion experts often described farshi shalwar as ideal for young, tall and lean girls. Many women avoided the style because of its heavy and dramatic look.
This year, designers introduced a more flexible option. Floor-length farshi shirts are now leading Eid collections across Pakistan. These shirts extend to the feet and create an elegant silhouette.
Designers paired these shirts with culottes, palazzos and traditional shalwars. The combination offers both comfort and a modern festive look.
Designers take on farshi shirts
In an interview with a private news channel, designer Kiran Afzal confirmed the shift in fashion trends. She said farshi shalwar dominated last year’s season. However, designers now focus on farshi shirts.
“Last year farshi shalwar was in fashion. Now farshi shirts are trending. These shirts reach the feet,” she said.
Afzal added that customers mostly demand full-length shirts with culottes, palazzos or shalwars this season. She also noted that the trend is still growing. According to her, not everyone follows it yet. However, designers are actively producing farshi shirts for Eid collections.
Apart from farshi shirts, several other styles also appear in Eid fashion this year. Structured Anarkalis, long shirts with straight pants and flowy kaftans remain popular choices. Designers are also focusing on intricate embroidery and detailed embellishments.
Fabric trends this Eid
Weather conditions also influence fabric choices this year. Designers prefer chiffon, silk, raw silk, crepe and organza instead of lawn fabrics. The moderate weather during Eid encourages the use of richer materials.
Colour trends also show variety. Soft pastel shades dominate daytime Eid gatherings. Powder blue, blush pink and mint green remain popular choices for morning and afternoon events.
For evening celebrations, brighter tones lead the fashion palette. Fuchsia, emerald green and midnight blue appear frequently in designer collections.
Several Pakistani celebrities and models have also showcased the trend on social media. Stars including Ayeza Khan, Maya Ali, Ushna Shah and Kiran Malik have shared pictures wearing trendy farshi shirts.
Fashion observers say the new trend suits different body types. Unlike farshi shalwar, the long shirt style works for various heights and body frames.
Because of this flexibility, designers expect farshi shirts to become one of the most popular Eid styles this year.
