Federal Constabulary to assist in restoring peace in Balochistan

The Federal and provincial governments have decided to seek the services of the Federal Constabulary to help maintain peace and stability in Balochistan.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting on the province’s law and order situation held in Quetta. The meeting was chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti.

Senior officials from both federal and provincial institutions also attended the session, where the overall security situation and steps to strengthen stability in the province were reviewed.

Officials emphasised coordinated efforts between federal and provincial authorities to improve the law and order situation and ensure lasting peace in Balochistan. It has been decided to seek the services of the Federal Constabulary to help establish peace and stability in Balochistan.

During the meeting, it was decided to deploy the Federal Constabulary to help establish peace in Balochistan. In the first phase, approximately 3,000 personnel, consisting of two wings of the Federal Constabulary, will be deployed.

It was also decided to make the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) more active in Balochistan and to recruit residents to fill vacant positions.

In addition, both the Balochistan government and the federal government agreed to strengthen monitoring of anti-state activities on social media. The meeting also decided to intensify action against individuals involved in spreading baseless propaganda against the state on social media.

According to an official statement, the federal government assured the Balochistan government of its full cooperation. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government would provide all possible support to enhance the professional capacity of the Balochistan Police. He added that the government is fully aware of the situation in Balochistan and will assist in efforts to establish peace.
