Karachi: Building wall collapses, 13 killed in Baldia Town

13 individuals have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a building wall in the Baldia region of Karachi, specifically in Moachh Goth.

Inspector General of Police, Javed Alam Odho, has directed SSP Keamari to immediately proceed to the site of the accident.

An order has been issued to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the incident and to provide a detailed report.

Instructions have also been given to swiftly evacuate individuals trapped beneath the debris with the assistance of rescue personnel and to transport them to the hospital.

Rescue operations continue

Additionally, orders have been issued to secure the building collapse site in Karachi and its surrounding areas, while ambulance and rescue operations continue without interruption.

SSP Keamari has left for the accident site, while the SHO is currently present at the scene with a team.

The Rescue 1122 search and rescue team is actively engaged in ongoing operations. The search for additional individuals beneath the rubble is still in progress.

There are reports of people congregating in the building due to rainfall.

The initial report indicates that the deceased were drug addicts.

The district administration has further deployed heavy machinery to assist in the rescue operation. Rescue 1122’s quick response has led to intensified relief operations.
