The presidents of the US and Iran have recently signed an electronic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ahead of the peace deal.
The US President, Donald Trump, and the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, signed this MoU.
As per the post of Axios on X, formerly known as Twitter, the agreement is now completely in effect.

Both countries have signed an important agreement to end the war between the United States and Iran.
The presidents of the United States and Iran have signed the MoU, and the agreement has come into immediate effect.
President Donald Trump personally signed the agreement, and both countries completed the signing and implementation process ahead of the scheduled time.
According to the media reports, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has also confirmed the electronic signature, signed by both respected presidents.
This MoU has been signed ahead of the scheduled time as the Islamabad peace deal ceremony will be held tomorrow, June 19, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has officially announced a peace deal between the US and Iran.
In his tweet on June 15, PM Shehbaz said, “Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED”.
Trump earlier appreciated the efforts of Pakistan, saying that Pakistan has a big role in this historic peace deal.
Both of the sides have agreed to permanently end the military operations against each other.
PM Shehbaz thanked the leaders of both of the nations.
In his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said, “We would like to thank the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.”
PM Shehbaz also appreciated the support of the leadership of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkiye for their endless efforts to resolve the conflict between the two states.
Shehbaz Sharif said, “With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”
