Renowned cricketer claims financial fraud in investment deal

Cricketer Usama Mir has claimed that he, along with several other high-profile players, has been defrauded of millions of rupees in an alleged investment scam.

Speaking to a private news channel, Mir revealed that an individual identified as Abdul Rehman, reportedly linked with the brand Gym Armour, convinced multiple prominent cricketers to invest large sums of money.

According to Mir, the accused collected funds under the promise of profitable returns, but the investments have yet to be repaid, raising serious concerns among the affected players.

He stated that whenever repayment is requested, the individual avoids it by repeatedly giving new dates. Usama Mir claims that many famous players have been similarly affected.

He has urged the relevant authorities to take immediate legal action against Abdul Rehman to ensure that the players’ money is recovered. He emphasised that he has brought this issue to light so that others can be protected from similar fraud and the responsible individual can be held accountable.

Cricketer Mir further disclosed that he invested a total of 800,000 dirhams, but the agreement to provide profit in return for this investment was not fulfilled. He added that he has all the documents, including records of message exchanges, as evidence.

He said that neither any profit was received nor was the principal amount returned. Instead, he was repeatedly given assurances. Plot documents were provided as a guarantee, but they also turned out to be fraudulent.
