Gwadar received rainfall during the last 24 hours on Friday, March 27.
The highest precipitation was recorded in the district headquarters. According to official figures, Gwadar recorded 17.1 mm of rain.
It is followed by Pasni with 12.2 mm, Jiwani with 10.5 mm, Ormara with 0.2 mm, Lasbella with 0.1 mm, and Uthal with 0.4 mm.
No damage recorded
Despite the rainfall, no damage to infrastructure has been reported so far.
However, water accumulation of approximately 6 to 8 inches was observed in parts of Gwadar city. These include Jannat Bazar, Mir Lal Baksh Ward, and Bilal Mosque areas.
Authorities reported that water is mainly accumulated on roads. Additionally, houses and shops have not been significantly affected.
De watering operations are currently underway in general areas of the city, being carried out by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) and Baldia (municipal services) teams.
In addition, rainwater has also accumulated in the Surbandar area, where water reportedly entered a few houses.
Officials stated that de watering operations in Surbandar will begin after the situation in Gwadar city is brought under control.
Karachi’s weather turns pleasant
Karachi received rain early on Thursday. The rain brought much needed relief from the city’s recent warm conditions.
The rain came after the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warned of a thunderstorm.
Light showers were first reported in central areas such as Saddar, Clifton, MA Jinnah Road and the Old City Area before extending to northern areas including North Karachi, New Karachi and Surjani Town.
Before the rainfall, strong gusty winds hit the port city, showing a shift in weather conditions.
Rain turns weather pleasant in Lahore
Light to heavy rain swept across several parts of Lahore on Wednesday. It turned the weather pleasant, bringing cooler temperatures and a visible improvement in air quality.
