The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a major decision to avoid a conflict of interest.
Pakistan Cricket Board has barred Wahab Riaz and Sarfaraz Ahmed from working in PSL. As employees of the PCB, both the former cricketers have been prevented from working with Quetta Gladiators.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is with the selection committee and the head coach of the test team while Wahab Riaz is also associated with the women’s team as a mentor.
Sarfaraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz were among the team management of Quetta Gladiators.
In another development, Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has issued a defamation notice to another fellow cricketer named Ahmed Shehzad. Ahmed Shehzad made allegations about him
Misbah, who is serving as the batting coach of Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has vehemently denied the allegations and said they are baseless and bad for his professional reputation.
According to the sources familiar with the development, the legal notice requires retraction and clarification from Shehzad about his statements publicly.
It also provides a warning that further legal action can be taken if the demands are not satisfied within a timeframe. Shehzad’s legal team is likely to react in the coming days as the situation unfolds.
The controversy comes from allegations made by Shehzad in which he stated that Misbah had failed to pay dues due to cricketer Haseebullah Khan.
The matter has since attracted a lot of attention in cricketing circles and is currently under legal review.
Legal representatives from both sides are said to be processing the claims and what they might mean before going any further.
Notably, this is not the first time that there is tension between Misbah and Shehzad, adding an extra string to an ongoing dispute.
