SWAT: Earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted Swat and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake struck at a depth of 50 kilometers, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

Panic spread among residents as buildings trembled, prompting people to rush outdoors.

However, no immediate reports of casualties or property damage were received.

Emergency teams and local authorities are assessing the situation and collecting information from affected areas.

Earlier, earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of the country including the federal capital Islamabad, causing panic among the citizens.

The earthquake was also felt in Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Mardan and other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday at 5:22 PM Pakistan Local Time. People in different areas came out of their homes and offices to open spaces reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.

According to initial reports, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded as 5.6 on the Richter scale, while its epicenter is being reported in the border area of ​​Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
