ICT police detains 57 individuals in major search operation in Islamabad

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 57 suspicious individuals during extensive combing and search operation executed across parts of the federal capital.

The operations took place within the jurisdictions of Margalla, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Secretariat, Golra, and Lohi Bher police stations, overseen by zonal Superintendents of Police.

He mentioned that female police officers of Islamabad police also took part in the search operations to guarantee thorough inspections.

He noted that throughout the search operation, 542 individuals and 208 households were examined, in addition to 98 shops and 44 hotels being inspected by the Islamabad police

He further stated that 286 motorcycles and 114 vehicles were inspected during the operation, with 57 suspicious individuals and 12 motorcycles being transferred to the appropriate police stations for additional verification.

The official indicated that these operations were carried out under the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at eradicating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens throughout the district.

He also encouraged citizens to assist the police during inspections and to immediately report any suspicious activities.

Islamabad Police arrest multiple robbery gangs

The Islamabad Police have persisted in their operations against organised crime in 2026, achieving remarkable progress in several high-profile cases.

On February 16, a robbery occurred at a private bank located in the Blue Area of Kohsar.

Islamabad Police swiftly identified and apprehended four dangerous suspects, including gang leader Zia Ullah, in Peshawar and Karak, using advanced technical tools, CCTV footage, and human intelligence.

The items seized included Rs3000,000 in cash, three pistols, and a motorcycle.

In a separate incident, the Loh-e-Bheer police detained three members of an organised TCS gang: Muneeb Sohail Rajput, Muhammad Faheem, and Iftikhar Ahmed.
