Saudi FM meets PM Shehbaz; Pakistan pledges full support

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday.

According to the statement, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister was received at the Prime Minister’s House by Prime Minister Sharif’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Asim Malik.

During the warm and cordial meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the Saudi Foreign Minister and conveyed his respectful regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as his greetings to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s full and unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom, Prime Minister Sharif appreciated Saudi Arabia’s remarkable restraint amid the current crisis and assured the Saudi Foreign Minister that Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had met with the Saudi Foreign Minister. According to a statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Office, the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the region and the world. They emphasised the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and joint efforts to promote peace, security, and stability in the region.

It is noteworthy that important talks between the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey were held under Pakistan’s hosting. According to the Foreign Office, this meeting is part of ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions.
