WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature for iPhone users, introducing multi-account support and improved cross-platform compatibility.
The update, introduced by parent company Meta, allows iPhone users to operate two separate WhatsApp accounts on a single device. The feature, already available on Android since October 2023, is now being released globally in phases for iOS users.
With the new functionality, users no longer need multiple devices to manage different accounts. Switching between accounts is simple and can be done by tapping the profile image, similar to account switching on Instagram.
The feature is expected to help users better manage personal and professional conversations while keeping them separate.
How to set up multiple accounts on iPhone:
- Open the Settings option within the app
- Tap the plus icon next to your name and select “Add Account”
- Tap “Agree and Continue” to accept policies
- Choose your country and enter the phone number
- Tap “Continue” and enter the six-digit verification code
- Add a name for the new profile and tap “Next”
- Upload a profile photo and complete the setup
Users can switch between accounts anytime through the Settings menu by selecting the alternate profile.
In addition to multi-account support, WhatsApp has also enhanced its chat transfer feature. Previously, users could only move chats from Android to iPhone, but the latest update now allows seamless transfer from iPhone to Android as well, making cross-platform usage more convenient.
New AI feature lets WhatsApp write messages for you
WhatsApp is bringing some new features to make messaging easier and with the help of AI.
The app now incorporates artificial intelligence to assist the users in typing messages and suggest the replies to users and enhances the way they communicate in chats.
The most significant in this regard represents an upgrade of a service previously launched in August 2025, the “Writing Help” feature.
This tool offers users the ability to rewrite messages, check grammar and tone. With the latest version, it is now able to provide artificial intelligence based suggestions to help users find the right wording.
Meta states that the aim is to help users to “get their message just right” without needing to leave the app and keep chats private and secure.
To use this feature, users simply press the chat bar, tap on the stickers icon and then the pencil icon with sparkles.
This opens the AI tools making it easy to improve the messages in real-time.
