Schools across Pakistan are set to reopen from April 1 (tomorrow), with provincial authorities confirming the resumption of regular in-person classes after the end of break due to fuel conservation measures.

Punjab

In Punjab, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that all schools will reopen from April 1. He clarified that institutions will operate five days a week and dismissed social media claims about a shorter schedule as fake. The minister also ruled out online or hybrid learning, directing students to attend physical classes.

Sindh

The government of Sindh confirmed that schools, including those in Karachi, will reopen as scheduled on April 1. Education Minister Sardar Shah rejected rumours of extended holidays, stating that all academic activities, including exams, will proceed normally with no shift to online education.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, schools will also resume from April 1 after nearly three weeks of closure. The provincial government has introduced new timings, with primary schools operating from 7:30 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. Additional initiatives, including mandatory assemblies and weekly literary sessions, have also been announced for student development.

Balochistan

The Balochistan Education Department has also announced the reopening of all educational institutions from April 1. Schools will follow a five-day schedule from Monday to Friday, with weekends off. The department confirmed that exams and assessments will be conducted as per the existing timetable.

The education departments across all regions have urged parents and students to rely on official notifications and ignore unverified information circulating on social media.

Islamabad

In the federal capital Islamabad, all private schools and colleges will resume classes from April 1. The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority has issued a formal notification directing institutions to restart physical classes and continue regular academic schedules.

Gilgit-Baltistan

The education department in Gilgit-Baltistan has confirmed that all public and private schools will reopen from April 1. The announcement was made by Education Secretary Usman Ahmed, who directed institutions to ensure a smooth resumption of academic activities.
