The well-known lawyer and politician Sher Afzal Marwat is once again in the news, and this time he said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was actually a waistcoat seller.
Sher Afzal Marwat further criticised that Sohail Afridi has a big misunderstanding that he is the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
It is important to mention that Sher Afzal Marwat was also a part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and he joined the party in 2018. Sher Afzal Marwat gained popularity as a loyalist of the founder of the PTI, Imran Khan.
However, after seeing his growing popularity, the party decided to appoint Sher Afzal Marwat as a senior vice president of PTI. It is important to mention that Sher Afzal Marwat became a senior vice president of PTI on November 22, 2023.
Sher Afzal Marwat won the 2024 election
After becoming vice president of PTI in 2023, Sher Afzal Marwat took part in the 2024 general elections, and after winning the polls, he became a member of the National Assembly.
However, after some months, the relationship between some other party members and Sher Afzal Marwat has started becoming ugly. On May 9, 2024, the PTI removed Sher Afzal Marwat from the core political committee of the party.
Why is Sher Afzal Marwat against Sohail Afridi?
Sher Afzal Marwat is against several PTI members, and the CM of KP, Sohail Afridi, is one of them. Earlier, Sher Afzal Marwat said that Sohail Afridi was a waistcoat seller before becoming the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sohail Afridi was elected the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 15, 2025. However, it is important to mention that Sher Afzal Marwat has not joined any other party yet, and he still considers himself a worker of PTI.
