The National Highway Authority (NHA) has suspended the notification regarding toll rate hike on the orders of Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif.
The government has suspended the proposed increase in motorway toll taxes following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has withdrawn its notification to raise toll rates.
On the directive of the Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has suspended the notification issued on April 1.
A new notification has been issued.

Earlier, a notification had been issued to increase toll taxes from April 5.
The minister said the decision was taken in view of the financial burden on the public after a sharp increase in petrol prices. He added that the prime minister directed authorities to suspend the hike for the time being.
The NHA has not made any increase in toll plaza fees for the fiscal year 2025–26.
Officials said the move aims to provide temporary relief to commuters already facing rising transport costs after the fuel price surge.
The development comes amid growing public concern over inflation, a trend frequently highlighted in local media reports.
