The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light rain in Karachi on Monday, April 6. The rain is expected as a westerly weather system moves across parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, the system will enter Balochistan and it may bring light to moderate rain in Karachi, along with thunder and lightning.
Karachi weather today
The forecast comes after deadly incidents hit the city on April 2 after heavy rain in the previous days.
At least six people died in these incidents, and three others were injured during heavy showers, according to the reports.
In Golimar, a rickshaw driver named Irshad died when a house wall collapsed on him. In Surjani Town, a young man and a 12 year old girl named Dua died from electrocution inside their homes.
Another man, Abdul Wali, also died from electrocution near a hotel in PIB Colony, as per the reports.
Other incidents were reported in Ahsanabad, where a labourer died on the Super Highway, and on MA Jinnah Road, where another man was electrocuted.
In Orangi Town, three children were injured when a wall collapsed.
Authorities have warned residents to be careful during the upcoming rain.
New weather system to bring more rains across country
The Met Office has forecast another western disturbance approaching western Balochistan on the evening of April 5.
This system is expected to intensify and continue across the upper regions of the country until April 9.
Sindh weather
Scattered rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms are expected in Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Qambar Shahdadkot.
In addition to this, light to moderate rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Matiari, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, and Karachi on 6th April.
