The ongoing rumours regarding the hacking of the National Emergency and Operations Centre (NEOC) turned out to be false.
The parent institution National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has clearly rejected all these fake claims.
The hackers on April 4, 2026, claimed to breach into the systems of the NEOC.
NEOC hacked
The hacker group, which is named ‘h4xorvats’, recently claimed that they have gained access to the NEOC completely.
Meanwhile, NDMA immediately responded to the matter and denied the false claims to be compromised by such hackers.
The hackers leaked the dataset of 13000 files, saying that these files contain everything from CNIC to bank account details, medical histories, vaccination records, and even village addresses of people.
An official in the NDMA said, “The information circulating over the past few days is fabricated with reference to NEOC and NDMA. It is incorrect and constitutes false news regarding NEOC and NDMA. There has been no cyber incident or suspicious activity within the NDMA environment.”
He further said that NDMA only contain the dataset regarding disaster management. Personal details like CNIC or bank details are not collected by either the NEOC or the NDMA.
“All NEOC-NDMA data is open and publicly available on the official website for public use. NEOC at NDMA does not maintain any classified personal information, as this is neither within our mandate nor a requirement of our operations. Therefore, there has been no data breach, pilferage, or cyber activity affecting NDMA’s IT environment,” he added.
What is NEOC?
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) works under NDMA and is responsible for analysing, coordinating disaster response, and risk reduction initiatives in real time.
It is equipped with more than 300 climate sensors, satellite imagery and AI to provide early warnings to the public for safety measurements.
