Director of critically acclaimed film, Joyland, Saim Sadiq recently criticised Humayun Saeed over the Atiqa Odho controversy.
He said asked why Humayun Saeed was acting like a child.
“Humayun Saeed is only 4 years younger than Atiqa and 1 year younger than Nadia Khan. Why is he calling them bari behnein? His last heroine Sajal Aly was 22 years younger than him. Should she be calling him Nana Jan.”, Saim Sadiq added .
Atiqa Odho controversy
A public feud has taken place between Pakistani actors Fahad Mustafa and Atiqa Odho after the veteran actress suggested that he should think about working with women who are closer to his own age.
Atiqa Odho made these comments during a television appearance where she was presented with photographs of various actors and asked to share her opinions.
When Mustafa’s image was displayed, she commented that “the time has come for him to work with girls of his own age, I mean women,” indicating that leading men should be more considerate of age difference with their on-screen partners.
Mustafa replied during a television broadcast alongside fellow actor Humayun Saeed. Using a sarcastic tone, he questioned Odho’s critique.
“I don’t know what problem Atiqa aapa has. Maybe she will only be happy if Humayun and I start playing heroes opposite her. This has crossed all limits,” he added.
He stated further, “Atiqa aapa, it seems you are the only heroine left for us now. Inshallah, we will work with you. Just get two or four good surgeries, and we will come.”
