The Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches to be held in Karachi have been provided with a comprehensive security plan.
According to details, an important meeting was held at SSU Headquarters under the chairmanship of DIG Security Dr Maqsood Ahmed to review the security arrangements.
Commandant SSU Aamir Khan Niazi, while giving a briefing in the meeting on security arrangements, stated that more than 5,000 police personnel and 1,000 SSU commandos, including lady commandos, will be deployed on security duty.
Along with Pakistan Army and Rangers, SSU commandos conducted a security drill in the stadium. The security division and all stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to providing foolproof security.
Traffic police, Special Branch, and district police will also perform security duties. Strict security arrangements have been made at the stadium, airport, routes, and hotels, while sharpshooters have also been deployed at sensitive locations.
The use of all kinds of drone cameras in and around the stadium has been strictly prohibited.
The Special Weapons and Tactics team will remain on alert at SSU Headquarters as a quick response force.
An SSU command and control bus will also be deployed around the stadium to monitor the law and order situation.

In other news the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has called its players back from PSL 11. They were told to report back to Emirates Cricket Board and told to participate in the domestic D50 tournament.
The two players were Muhammad Waseem and Khuzaima bin Tanveer, who were playing for the franchise Karachi Kings and now have left for the UAE.
