Margalla trails closed on 9th 10th April

Islamabad district administration issued a notification of the closure of Margalla hiking trails due to massive security for the US-Iran talks in Islamabad.

According to the issued notification by the Islamabad district administration, the Margalla trails will be closed for citizens on April 9th and 10th.

The notification also confirmed that the trails 2, trail 3, trail 4, trail 5 and trail behind Saidpur village shall remain closed for the general public.

According to the media reports, the closure of Margalla trails is due to security reasons as the high-profile delegations will arrive in Islamabad on April 9th and 10th. Pakistan Army will be deployed in Islamabad on 9th and 10th April amid peace talks between the US and Iran.

At Nur Khan Air Base, a UAE C-130 aircraft landed earlier today, followed by a US C-17, while more flights from Qatar are expected to arrive with foreign officials.

These arrivals mark the start of important diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran, which are set to begin tomorrow.

Authorities have partially diverted traffic on the Srinagar Highway, and they have restricted the entry of heavy vehicles in the area. The Islamabad Traffic Police are helping manage traffic and assist commuters.

Officials have set up special routes to transport foreign delegations between the airport and their hotels.

A five-star hotel in Islamabad will host the main foreign delegates, while authorities will accommodate additional guests in nearby hotels. They have asked current residents in these hotels to vacate immediately.

Security teams have fully barricaded roads leading to the main hotel to ensure tight security during the high-level talks.
