FPSC announces updates on interviews scheduled this week

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has issued an important update regarding interviews scheduled this week due to a local holiday in Islamabad.

According to an official notification, several interviews planned at FPSC headquarters on April 9, 2026, have been postponed. These include interviews for the posts of Charge Nurse at Federal General Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

The commission stated that the decision was taken in light of the public holiday declared by the federal government through a notification issued by the Cabinet Division. New dates for the postponed interviews will be announced in due course.

However, FPSC clarified that not all interviews are affected. Interviews for Medical Officer positions for the Gilgit-Baltistan government will proceed as scheduled on April 9 and will be conducted online via Zoom.

NADRA offices to remain closed in Islamabad

The National Database and Registration Authority earlier announced a two-day closure of its offices in the Islamabad Capital Territory after a local holiday notification issued by the administration.

According to the official notification, all NADRA offices in Islamabad will remain closed on April 9 and 10, 2026, on Thursday and Friday.

The notification stated that its mega centres, which usually operate 24/7, will also suspend services during this period. These centres will close at 8AM on Thursday and reopen at 8AM on Saturday.

However, NADRA offices in Rawalpindi will continue functioning as usual, providing an alternative for residents of the twin cities who require in-person assistance.

For those in Islamabad affected by the temporary closure, NADRA has advised that several services will remain accessible through the Pak ID mobile app, allowing users to complete essential tasks remotely.

Local holidays announced in Islamabad

A two-day local holiday has been declared in the federal capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, on Thursday, April 9 and 10, 2026, as notified by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon for the expected peace talks between Iran and the United States (US) after Pakistan brokered the ceasefire today.  

On Friday, April 10, Pakistan is expected to hold the Islamabad peace talks between the US and Iran.

In view of the upcoming talks, a two-day holiday has been announced in Islamabad on April 9 and 10. On Thursday and Friday this week.

According to the notification, there will be a two-day holiday within the revenue limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory.

However, essential services will remain operational. These include:

  • MCI
  • CDA
  • ICT Administration
  • ICT Police
  • IESCO
  • SNGPL

Additionally, the notification stated that hospital citizens are advised to plan their activities accordingly.
