Rain forecast for Punjab, KP

A new spell of rain has entered the country with westerly winds. According to NDMA technical expert Dr Tayyab, heavy rain and hail are expected in several areas from April 16 to 19.

While talking to a private TV channel, he said rainfall is likely in the northern areas of Pakistan, the Potohar region, Islamabad and northern Punjab. Rain is also expected in areas connected to the Salt Range, as well as in central and northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next three to four days.

Dr Tayyab added that most areas of Balochistan and Sindh will remain hot and dry. He further stated that the intensity of rainfall will be higher in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chitral, Buner, Shangla, Balakot, Mansehra, and the Swabi–Mardan belt. He also warned that hail is expected in Islamabad, Murree, and the Galiyat region.

The Meteorological Department and relevant agencies have advised citizens to remain cautious and stay informed about weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted the arrival of a new series of westerly winds in the northwestern regions of the country from April 17. Due to this system, rainfall is expected in different areas from April 16 to 19.

According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent rain is likely in Lahore during this period, accompanied by strong and gusty winds. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures. The humidity level in the air has been recorded at 32 per cent, and winds are blowing at a speed of 3 kilometres per hour.

The Meteorological Department further stated that there is less chance of rain in the city today, and overall weather conditions will remain hot and dry.
