The preparations for the second round of negotiations between the US and Iran are already complete and ready and the technical-level negotiations might be initiated at any time.
After the negotiations are over, the US President, Trump, and the leaders of various other nations are expected to pay a visit to Islamabad.
Tahir Andrabi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan, revealed that the date of the second round of discussions between the United States and Iran has not been finalised.
He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left Madinah for Doha and then Turkey. In Doha he held a meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He further mentioned that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has visited Tehran.
As Andrabi reveals, Pakistan desires that tensions in the Middle East come to an immediate end and is determined to establish peace in the region.
He claimed that the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was actively involved in the sincere attempts to facilitate peace talks which took place in Islamabad.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, and his team added strength to the process.
He argued that a ceasefire could not have been achieved without the effective mediation and good diplomatic facilitation by Pakistan.
Andrabi also added that the previous week American and Iranian delegations also visited the prime minister and the military leadership of Pakistan, and they praised the hospitality and the diplomatic work that the country is doing.
He further pointed out that peace efforts in Pakistan are becoming known to the world.
He added that the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had just briefed the Saudi Arabian leadership on the Pakistani diplomatic activity.
According to Andrabi, the Emir of Qatar, the Chancellor of Germany and the Prime Minister of Italy also contacted Shehbaz Sharif and appreciated Pakistan’s role.
