Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasised that honouring commitments forms the foundation of any meaningful dialogue, while voicing deep-seated historical mistrust toward US government actions and criticising what he described as contradictory and unconstructive signals from American officials.

In a message posted on X, the Iranian President stated that Iran remains open to constructive engagement but firmly rejects any approach that seeks the country’s surrender through force or coercion.

He pointed to deep historical mistrust in Iran toward US government conduct,” adding that unconstructive and contradictory signals from American officials carry a bitter message; they seek Iran’s surrender.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iranians do not submit to force, underscoring a defiant stance rooted in national pride and past experiences with US-Iran relations, including the collapse of the 2015 nuclear deal and subsequent sanctions.
