PM Shehbaz pledges continued engagement with Chinese leadership

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which detailed discussions took place on Pakistan–China relations and the regional situation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning and Development Dr Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch were also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes to the Chinese President and Prime Minister and expressed satisfaction with the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China. He reiterated his commitment to continuing close cooperation with the Chinese leadership.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan is proud of its strategic partnership with China and emphasised that close cooperation will further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

The situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s efforts for peace were also discussed. The Chinese Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister and appreciated his diplomatic efforts for promoting peace in the region.

He reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the friendship with Pakistan in line with the vision of the Chinese President and reiterated China’s resolve to take this partnership to new heights.
