Huge updates regarding the dates for Eid ul Azha holidays 2026 have emerged. According to the early estimates, if the moon is seen on May 17, then the holy month of Zil Hajj will start on May 18. In this case, Eid ul Azha is expected to fall between May 27 and May 29.
However, the final dates will depend on the sighting of the moon for the month of Zil Hajj.
The current Islamic month, Zilqad, started on April 19, 2026. The Ruet e Hilal Committee meeting for moon sighting is expected on May 17 for the sighting.
If the moon is not seen and Zilqad completes 30 days, then Eid ul Azha is expected between May 28 and May 30.
The official holiday schedule may be from May 27 to May 29, which is from Wednesday to Friday.
If this joins with the weekend of May 30 and 31, that will be Saturday and Sunday, people could get up to five days off.
If Eid is delayed by one day, Zil Hajj will start on May 19. This way, the holidays may fall from May 28 to May 30, which will be from Thursday to Saturday. This could also become a longer break if Sunday is included.
The final dates will be confirmed after the official moon sighting announcement.
