Government revises petrol, diesel prices

The government has announced a significant increase in petroleum prices, raising the rates of both petrol and diesel by Rs 26.77 per litre.

According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 26.77 per litre, while the price of diesel has also been raised by the same amount.

The revised prices have taken effect immediately, impacting transportation costs and overall inflation expectations across the country. The adjustment comes as part of regular fuel price revisions based on international market trends and currency fluctuations.

The new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs 380.19 per litre, while petrol has been increased to Rs 393.35 per litre. According to the notification, the revised prices will come into effect from midnight tonight and will remain valid until next week.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik stated that due to regional tensions, global oil prices are rising again, putting pressure on local prices, and that measures are being taken in line with agreements with international partners.

He added that the government has tried to absorb the increase in petroleum product prices as much as possible.

The minister further said that the government has made every effort to limit the impact of rising fuel prices on the public, and prayed for peace in the region and relief for the people soon.
