Hajj pilgrims expected to spend more than Rs 9.5b on sacrifices

This year, Pakistani pilgrims are expected to spend more than nine and a half billion rupees on sacrificial animals. A total of 189,210 pilgrims going for Hajj under both government and private schemes will purchase sacrificial animals worth more than 12,091 million Saudi riyals.

The cost of sacrifice per pilgrim has been fixed at 720 Saudi riyals, according to media reports. The sacrifice of 119,210 pilgrims travelling under the government Hajj scheme will cost more than 6.43 billion rupees. Similarly, 60,000 pilgrims under the private Hajj scheme will collectively pay around 3.24 billion rupees for the sacrifice.

The sacrifice component of the total Hajj package, which is about 1.15 million rupees per pilgrim, accounts for roughly five per cent of the overall cost. In total, the sacrifice expenditure amounts to approximately 12,931 million Saudi riyals.

Hajj pilgrims continue to arrive in Madinah

Pakistan Hajj pilgrims continue to arrive in Madinah as part of the pre-Hajj flight operation, with 8,753 pilgrims reaching the holy city so far. Coordinator Madinah, along with officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, received and welcomed the pilgrims at their residences.

A grand reception was also held in their honour, which included a cake-cutting ceremony and a special dinner. According to officials, these activities are part of efforts to provide better facilities for the pilgrims and ensure a pleasant and comfortable environment, allowing them to begin their spiritual journey with peace and satisfaction.
