Hajj flights from Faisalabad resume after four years

Pakistan International Airlines has also reintroduced Hajj operations in Faisalabad after a four-year suspension, and this is a huge breakthrough for pilgrims in this city

The pilgrims and residents of Faisalabad are excited since the Hajj operations have started again after a hiatus of 4 years.

The first Hajj plane from Faisalabad was carrying 150 pilgrims and was bound for Madina. Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen and MPA Ahmed Shahryar sent off the pilgrims.

According to authorities, 3680 pilgrims will fly to Saudi Arabia from Faisalabad alone in 23 flights by May 19.

PIA will conduct 15 flights from Faisalabad to Madina and nine flights to Jeddah as part of the Hajj operation. The last Hajj flight out of Faisalabad is likely to take off on May 19.

Meanwhile the initial Hajj PIA Airline flight between Karachi and Madina landed in Madina on April 18 with 155 pilgrims on board.

The pilgrims were warmly welcomed in Madina Munawwara.

Direct General (DG) Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro and other top officials will receive the pilgrims at the airport.

The welcome ceremony also featured flower petals, gifts, traditional Saudi songs and duff performances providing unforgettable memories and spiritual experiences to the incoming pilgrims.

The Pakistanis have been settled in the Markaziya region of Madina near the Mosque of the Prophet.

Pilgrims were also given NUSUK cards as soon as they arrived in the Kingdom to aid in their movement and worship.
