The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, held an important meeting with the Iranian FM, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.
Pakistan makes significant diplomatic progress in peace efforts, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqi arrives in Islamabad, meets with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
They discussed in detail bilateral relations, the security situation in the region and the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi, Iranian Ambassador and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Iran informed Pakistan of its recent observations and position, while Pakistan expressed its commitment to continue its diplomatic efforts to establish peace in the region.
The leaders of both countries also agreed that dialogue and diplomacy are the only solutions in the current situation.
The second round of Islamabad Talks is expected to take place very soon, as per the media reports.
The meeting also discussed the possibilities of further promoting cooperation, strengthening border security and expanding economic ties.
Recall that uncertainty remains in the region regarding tensions between Iran and the United States
High-level contacts between Pakistan and Iran are a positive step towards a possible solution to this crisis.

Iranian delegation reaches Pakistan
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi has reached Islamabad.
Iranian Foreign Minister will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his visit.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Ismail Baqai, accompanied Abbas Araghchi.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir welcomed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi and Ismail Baqai.
