The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Karachi has executed a significant operation targeting the production and distribution of unregistered and fake drugs resulting in the arrests of four individuals.
This operation was conducted following the instructions of the FIA Karachi Zone director and under the oversight of the deputy director of the Karachi AHTC.
Acting on received intelligence, the FIA initiated inquiry No. 835/2026 and assembled a specialised team to carry out the raid.
Doctor arrested among crackdown on Karachi drug facility
The FIA team, accompanied by representatives from the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), conducted a raid at a facility situated in Bhains Colony, District Malir.
During this operation, four individuals, Dr. Salman, Younis, Kashif Shah Khan, and Imdad Shah were taken into custody.
They are suspected of being involved in the production and sale of counterfeit and unregistered medications.
The FIA seized a substantial amount of fake drugs, syringes, packaging materials, labeling equipment, a packing machine, and a mixing machine from the premises.
As reported by the FIA spokesperson, the suspects admitted during initial questioning to the manufacture of fake medicines. All confiscated items were secured following the completion of legal procedures.
A case has been filed against the suspects, and the court has granted a six-day physical remand for further investigation.
