The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, said that relations with China are the basic pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Changsha, China, on Saturday for an official visit to China.

The main cause of the visit was to expand economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

President Zardari visited the country at the invitation of the People’s Republic of China.

He was welcomed by Hu Xusheng, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, along with senior officials and ambassadors from both countries.

President Asif Ali Zardari said that relations with China are the basic pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy, and the hearts of the people of both countries beat together, which is the real strength of this friendship.

President Asif Ali Zardari met the leadership of Hunan province during his visit to China and agreed to further expand bilateral cooperation.

They discussed in detail strengthening cooperation in the spheres of health, education and trade.

They expressed a desire for joint initiatives in this field, recognising Hunan’s expertise in agricultural technology, seed research and modern farming methods.

He also emphasised the possibilities of increasing trade in the fields of minerals, agricultural machinery and information technology.

During the briefing, the President informed that several agreements have been signed between Hunan universities and Pakistani institutions, while hundreds of Pakistani students are currently studying there.

Addressing from close, the Hunan governor made an exemplary pledge to Pak-China friendship.

President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the Economic Corridor will play a major role in the next phase of the Economic Corridor.

The President also expressed his commitment to further enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Hunan.

During the visit, the President also visited industrial establishments where he was briefed on advanced production systems, technologies and investment opportunities.

They emphasised that joint projects and technology transfer can play a vital role in Pakistan’s industrial development and open new economic avenues for both countries.
