Heatwave alert issued as temperature climbed toward 40°C

A heatwave continues to persist in Lahore with a steady increase in the intensity of the sun.

According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature has been recorded at 32°C, while it is expected to rise to 40°C during the day.

The report states that the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 27°C, due to which the intensity of the heat will not significantly decrease even during nighttime. The humidity level has been recorded at 23 per cent however, due to low wind speed, citizens are facing muggy conditions.

Experts have also noted an increase in the UV index, indicating stronger and more harmful sun rays. In this situation, citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and to take special precautions, particularly during the afternoon hours.

The Meteorological Department has forecast a possibility of rain in the coming days, which is expected to bring some improvement in the weather.

The twin cities of Pakistan, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, are to face hot weather today as well.

As per the weather forecast, the weather in both of the cities will be hot today, as the temperature is expected to rise day by day.

Rawalpindi weather today

The temperature of Rawalpindi will be 24 degree celcius at 07:00am, with zero per cent of precipitation, and 35% of humidity.

The air quality is expected to remain fair with the dew point to remain at eight degree celcius.

After each hour, the temperature is expected to rise in Rawalpindi:

28 degrees at 08am, 29 degrees at 09am, 31 degrees at 10am, 33 degrees at 11am, 34 degrees at 12 pm.

The temperature will be high and at its peak at 1pm: 35 degree celcius, and it will rise further at 3pm to 36 degrees.

Islamabad weather today

The temperature of Islamabad will be 26 degree celcius at 07:00am, with zero per cent of precipitation, and 53% of humidity.

The air quality is expected to remain fair with the dew point to remain at 13 degree celcius.

After each hour, the temperature is expected to rise in Rawalpindi:

28 degrees at 08am, 30 degrees at 09am, 31 degrees at 10am, 33 degrees at 11am, 34 degrees at 12 pm.

The temperature will be high and at its peak at 1pm: 35 degree celcius, and it will rise further at 2pm to 37 degrees.

The officials have asked the commuters to travel safely and on time.

They have appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travelling.

Authorities have also asked the residents of the twin cities to remain hydrated and safe from the hot weather.
