For the first time in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL), commentary will feature in Pashto.
The new Pashto commentary is set to begin during the remaining matches of Peshawar Zalmi in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).
This development came due to the franchise Peshawar Zalmi. The new development came after the franchise signed an agreement with a private digital platform.
The digital platform will now stream the remaining Peshawar Zalmi matches with Pashto commentary.
According to the schedule Peshawar Zalmi is at least going to play two more matches in the ongoing eight-team tournament.
Peshawar Zalmi has completely dominated PSL 11 and dominated the table at the group stage. They will be playing against 3 times champion Islamabad United in the Qualifier at National Bank Stadium, Karachi today.
If the Qualifier is won by Peshawar Zalmi then they will directly qualify for the final. However, if they lose they will be facing the winner of Eliminator 1. Eliminator 1 is between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Teams in Eliminator 1 cannot afford to lose if they want to stay in the tournament.
The final of PSL 11 is supposed to be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, on Sunday.
It is expected that fan engagement will be increased with the introduction of the Pashto commentary.
The 11th edition has established a separate Urdu commentary feed for the first time.
The CEO of PSL Salman Naseer during a joint press conference with Walee Technlogies’ Ahsan Tahir in February, said, “We have already agreed on some things that we will do for their engagement. So one element in that is, one channel will be so dedicated, in which all the commentary and feed will be in Urdu.”
