Ariana Grande announces new album, 'Petal', shocking fans worldwide

Ariana Grande announced on Tuesday that her new and eighth studio album, titled “Petal,” is set to be released on July 31.

She shared the news on Instagram, following a series of teasers that included photos and videos of her working in the studio throughout the spring.

The announcement featured the album cover, which is a straightforward black-and-white image of Grande smiling, with her hair partially covering her face.

In a video posted on Instagram in mid-April, Grande called the album “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”

The new album is both executive produced and written by Ariana Grande in collaboration with Ilya Salmanzadeh, an Iranian-Swedish producer known for his work on Grande’s previous albums, including “Sweetener,” “Thank U, Next,” and “Eternal Sunshine.”

“Petal” is scheduled to be released during Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour, which is set to begin in June.

This tour will visit only 10 cities, beginning on June 6 at the Oakland Arena, and will include two nights in Los Angeles later that month at Crypto.com Arena, followed by another two nights at Kia Forum.

In November, Grande mentioned that her upcoming tour would serve as her one last big moment before she takes a break from touring.

Recently, Ariana Grande also received an Academy Award nomination for her role as Glinda in “Wicked,” along with nominations for Actor Awards for both the film and its sequel.

Earlier this year, she won a Grammy for pop duo/group performance for her collaboration on “Defying Gravity” with co-star Cynthia Erivo.
