The Balochistan government has started a new Green Line bus service in Quetta to help people travel more easily to the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute of Cardiology.
The project was launched under the guidelines of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. This initiative was taken to improve public transport and make healthcare access easier for patients and their families. The bus service connects different parts of Quetta to the cardiology institute. It is designed to provide safe, reliable and affordable transportation.
According to the transport department, the buses will run every day from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Buses will arrive every 45 minutes to ease waiting times for passengers. The route passes through several important areas of the city. These areas include BA Mall, FC Hospital, Nawan Killi, Zarghoonabad, Haji Manan, Labour Colony, Abdul Khaliq Chowk, Christian Colony, Highway Mart, Maleezai, Nasran and NUST before reaching the cardiac institute.
The main purpose of the project is to provide comfortable and timely transport for people going for medical treatment. Many patients and their families face difficulties reaching hospitals due to transport problems and high travel costs. They also stated the government plans to continue improving public transport and welfare projects in the province.
Moreover, the project is considered part of a broader plan to modernise Quetta’s urban transport system and improve access to healthcare facilities for lower income residents.
Resultantly, the new service is expected to improve travel facilities in Quetta and help patients reach healthcare services more easily and faster as usually patients and their families face difficulties reaching hospitals on time due to transport problems and high travel costs. This service connects different parts of Quetta to the cardiology institute, designed to provide safe and inexpensive transportation for the locals.
