A tech company, Securiti AI which was founded by Pakistani Rehan Jalil has been sold for $1.7 billion to a company called Veeam.
The deal is expected to close in December 2025.
Securiti AI specialises in data security management and provides tools that help organisations understand what data they have, who can access it, and how it is being used across hybrid cloud environments.
Studies suggest that 80 to 90 per cent of AI projects fail, largely due to poor data quality, lack of governance, and privacy concerns.
After completion of the official process, Rehan Jalil will become Veeam’s president of security.
According to Veeam, it will continue to sell Securiti’s products and will work to add Securiti’s privacy and governance, and will bring Securiti’s data-security and AI-governance tools into Veeam’s product line.
According to reports, Morgan Stanley advised Securiti AI on the transaction and JP Morgan provided financing to Veeam.
Veeam was acquired by Insight Partners for about $5 billion in 2020.
This news is seen as a big success story and highlights the depth of talent in Pakistan.
Rehan Jalil’s previous ventures
