The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, inaugurated the Rahmat Card Program to provide assistance of Rs100,000 each to widows and orphans in the province today.
The Rahmat Card Program has been launched in Punjab to help orphans and widows who are in need. In this article, you can learn about the eligibility criteria and how to apply for the card.
The program will apply across the entire province of Punjab. Financial assistance will be given to eligible widows and double-parent orphans.
Under this scheme, widows will receive Rs100,000 each, and each double-parent orphan will also be provided with financial support of Rs100,000.
Eligibility criteria
Officials said that a record amount of Rs5,000 million has been assigned from the provincial Zakat Fund for the Rahmat Card Program.
This means that only Muslim widows and orphans in need, who are eligible for Zakat according to Sharia, will be eligible for this program. This also means the applicant should not be Sahib-e-Nisab.
In addition to this, widows who are government employees, pensioners, or owners will also NOT be entitled to a grant through the Rahmat Card.
The person should not be getting regular financial help from any other scheme of the Punjab government.
