Trump says restarting strikes on Iran possible

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, while talking to the media on Saturday, told reporters that there is the possibility the United States could ‌restart strikes on Iran.

President Trump said this while he was responding to a reporter’s question at West Palm Beach in Florida, according to international media reports.

Trump called the blockade ‘a very friendly blockade’ while talking to the media.

The US President said that the door to negotiations with Iran has not been completely closed, but that America’s negotiating capacity is “unlimited”.

He added that if Iran immediately ends the war situation, it could take at least 20 years to rebuild the region, because the effects of war are very deep.

Trump also added that no party in the world wants to face the same type of war again after a few years, so a diplomatic solution should be preferred. However, he also reiterated his strong stance that force can be used if necessary.

He said that more than 5,000 US military personnel are being recalled from Germany. This decision has been made in line with the change in US military strategy and new priorities at the global level.

Iran proposes plan

Separately, Iran has proposed to Pakistan a plan for the permanent end of the ongoing conflict.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, said Iran has shared its suggestions with Pakistan as a mediator for a lasting solution.

He said now it is up to the United States to decide whether it wants to choose diplomacy or continue confrontation.

According to Iranian state media, while speaking to ambassadors and heads of foreign missions in Tehran, he said Iran is fully ready to respond strongly to any attack.

However, he added that Iran believes in diplomacy based on interests to solve problems.

He said Iran has always tried to reduce tensions and is ready for both options to protect its national interests and security. But he also said Iran will continue to distrust the United States.
