US President Trump
Before this as well, US President Donald Trump praised Pakistan for its role in peace efforts. He said that he has “great respect for Pakistan” and called its efforts “terrific.”
In an interview with Fox News, he said Pakistan has tried to support peace talks and will continue to stay involved.
“Great respect for Pakistan, but I will, because they’ve been terrific. They’ve really tried, and they’ll stay involved,” he said.
He also said Iran could contact the United States directly if it wants to negotiate an end to the conflict. Further, he added that there is no need for long travel when communication can be done easily.
Trump further stated that any agreement with Iran would be simple and must include one key condition that Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.
