The Sindh Pink Games 2026, which were initially planned to occur from May 8 to May 10, have been delayed due to intense heatwave.
Officials have announced that the event will now be held in August 2026 at the same location in Shaheed Benazirabad.
Authorities stated that this decision was made to put the safety of participants first and to allow for improved arrangements for the games.
In view of the situation, organisers of Sindh Pink Games have encouraged registered athletes to maintain their training and stay in touch with the district sports office for updated schedules and additional guidance.
District Sports Officer Abdul Rahim Rajput has confirmed that new dates will be revealed in due time.
Sports associations had sought the postponement of the event due to the severe weather conditions.
Nearly 1,500 athletes were expected to compete in 21 different sports during the Pink Games.
Hot and dry weather patterns continue across many regions of the country, with various areas in Sindh and Balochistan experiencing extreme heat.
The Met Office has predicted that the maximum temperature in Turbat could reach 45 degrees Celsius, while temperatures may rise to 44 degrees Celsius in Mithi, Jacobabad, and Nawabshah.

Earlier, the Meteorological Department predicted a severe heat wave in central and upper Sindh.
According to reports, the temperature is expected to reach 49 degrees in Dadu, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur.
The temperature may reach 49 degrees in various cities of Pakistan. The weather is expected to remain hot in Karachi despite the restoration of sea breezes.
Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze and other areas are expected to experience severe heat during the day.
