A severe heat wave will continue in central and upper Sindh from tomorrow to May 11, according to reports on Wednesday.
Sindh warned of heatwave
The temperature is expected to reach 49 degrees in various cities of Pakistan. The weather is expected to remain hot in Karachi despite the restoration of sea breezes.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a severe heat wave in central and upper Sindh. According to it, the temperature may reach 49 degrees in Dadu, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur.
Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze and other areas are expected to experience severe heat during the day.
In addition, temperatures are likely to range from 47 to 49 degrees celsius in various areas.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning to the public that they should avoid going out in the intense sun. Citizens should ensure maximum use of water during the day.
Karachi weather
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Karachi is likely to remain hot and humid for the next three days. However, sea breezes will continue to prevail in the city.
The temperature in Karachi is likely to range from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The temperature is likely to reach 36 degrees Celsius on Friday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity in the air in the city is likely to range from 55 to 85 per cent. While the temperature will feel higher due to the high humidity.
Advisory issued ahead of possible heatwave in Islamabad
The District Health Office, Islamabad have released a public advisory warning of a possible heatwave during the upcoming summer period today.
Citizens are being urged to take precautionary steps to protect themselves from extreme temperatures and reduce health risks linked to heat exposure.
According to the advisory, heat-related illnesses can escalate quickly if preventive measures are ignored.
Individuals exposed to extreme heat for extended periods may experience symptoms such as dehydration, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, and in severe cases, heat stroke, which can become life-threatening.
