PM Shehbaz, Qatari PM vow continued diplomatic efforts for regional peace

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad bin  Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation on Thursday.  

During the warm and cordial exchange, both leaders discussed the current regional situation in detail and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.

The Prime Minister, referring to his recent visit to Doha on April 16, said that his meetings with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari leadership were very productive in building consensus for promoting peace in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif also said that the people of Pakistan are looking forward to the upcoming visit of the Emir of Qatar to Pakistan. He added that this visit would play an important role in further strengthening and deepening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

The Prime Minister of Qatar appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

He assured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Qatar will continue to fully support Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on all matters of mutual interest.

It is worth mentioning here that last month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had assured full solidarity and support from Pakistan with Qatar and other friendly countries during this difficult time.

He expressed this during a telephonic conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the discussion, he exchanged Eid ul Fitr greetings and discussed the current situation in the region.

The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Emir, while Sheikh Tamim also extended his best wishes to Pakistan.
