The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has reiterated his appreciation for the mediation efforts made by Pakistan in the conflict between the United States (US) and Iran on Wednesday.
Taking to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, President Pezeshkian said that Iran and Pakistan share deep commonalities in their aspirations and hopes.
“Pakistan’s tireless efforts to promote peace in the region are rooted in the rich culture of this country,” he added further in his post.
Talking about his official trip to Pakistan yesterday, he said that during his trip to Pakistan to appreciate Pakistan’s mediations, a discussion was held for expanding interactions with President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
“During my trip to Pakistan to appreciate Pakistan’s mediations, we discussed expanding interactions with my brothers Asif Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Asim Munir,” he said.

Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan yesterday on an official visit after talks between Tehran and Washington in Switzerland, which were facilitated by Islamabad.
President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif gave a warm welcome to the Iranian president when he arrived at Nur Khan Airbase. A 21-gun salute was presented in his honour on his arrival in Pakistan.
Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder fighter jets also escorted the Iranian president’s plane as it entered Pakistani airspace and landed at Nur Khan Airbase. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was also part of the visiting delegation.
Later, President Pezeshkian arrived at the Prime Minister’s House, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed him.
The Iranian president was presented with a guard of honour at the PM’s House. Prime Minister Shehbaz also introduced him to members of the federal cabinet.
After the guard of honour ceremony, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other cabinet members.
