A Pakistan National Highways and Motorway Police officer has set an example of honesty during Hajj duty in Saudi Arabia after returning a lost handbag containing cash and important documents to its rightful owner.
Lost bag found during Hajj duty
According to a spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorway Police, the officer was performing duty as part of the Hajj mission when he found an unattended handbag. The bag contained 2,000 Saudi riyals along with several important personal documents.
Quick action to trace owner
The officer immediately took steps to trace the owner instead of keeping the bag. He sought help from hotel management and reviewed CCTV footage to identify the woman who had lost it. After confirming her identity, he contacted her and arranged the safe return of the handbag.
Praised for honesty and service
The woman received her belongings and expressed relief and gratitude after getting her cash and documents back safely. She appreciated the officer’s honesty and quick action in handling the situation.
Officials said the incident reflects the strong sense of responsibility and integrity shown by Pakistan’s Motorway Police personnel while serving abroad. They added that such actions help build a positive image of the country and its institutions.
