Several busy roads of Lahore are facing a massive traffic jam today, on Friday, causing severe problems for commuters and drivers.

According to the reports, the Lahore traffic police is devising alternate routes for the traffic. Here you can see the alternate routes you can take to avoid getting stuck in Lahore’s traffic.

Traffic movement towards Hafeez Centre has been completely blocked for all types of vehicles. Heavy traffic congestion is also being reported on MM Alam Road and from Hussain Chowk towards Liberty Market.

Severe traffic jams are also being observed from Barkat Market towards Liberty. Very heavy traffic pressure is building around Liberty and nearby roads in the Gulberg area.

Traffic flow is also slow and congested from Siddique Trade Centre towards Liberty. Commuters are facing difficulties due to continuous traffic blockage and heavy rush in the area.

According to a traffic alert for the Liberty Roundabout, the main Boulevard, Gulberg near Liberty Roundabout, is closed due to an ongoing event.

Heavy traffic congestion is being reported in nearby areas. These include Cavalry Ground, Kalma Chowk Underpass, and the surroundings of Qaddafi Stadium.

Commuters have been advised to avoid these roads and use alternate routes to reduce delays and reach their destinations on time.

What routes to take

The traffic police said that a plan for an alternate route is being devised for traffic passing through Liberty Chowk. Entry of all types of traffic from Jam-e-Shirin Park is prohibited, according to the reports.

Liberty Chowk hosts three-day Marka-e-Haq celebrations

Three-day-long Marka-e-Haq celebrations are starting in Lahore today to mark the one-year anniversary of Pakistan’s victory.

Preparations for the main event at Liberty Chowk have been completed, and a stage and sound system have been installed.

According to the reports, a special ceremony will be held this evening to pay tribute to the Pakistani forces, while Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz will also participate on the third day.

Digital parking to be introduced in Lahore

An IT company has offered to provide free services for the digital parking system in Lahore, according to reports today.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique. During the meeting, it was informed that digital parking will be launched at MM Alam Road, Liberty, Fashion Square and Private Hospital, and parking fees will be paid through a mobile app.

In addition, parking fees will be directly transferred to the account of the Lahore Parking Company through the QR code.

The IT company will consider offering free services for the digital parking system. The final decision will be taken by CM Punjab.

The Minister of Local Government said that successful models from around the world are being studied for digital parking.
