Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom celebrated the 1st anniversary of Marka-e-Haq in London. The British parliamentarians, Pakistan-origin councillors, businessmen, officers of the high commission, media representatives and a large number of members of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK.
Marka-e-Haq refers to the 2025 conflict between Pakistan and India, which began after the April 22 Pahalgam attack and ended with a ceasefire on May 10 following Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
In a statement issued today, Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to the UK, Haseeb bin Aziz, said the event paid strong tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, including soldiers, sailors, and airmen, who defended the country like an “iron shield.”
He said Pakistan’s military showed great courage, strong determination, and high professionalism, and protected the honour of the national flag.
He added that during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, the armed forces responded quickly, firmly, and accurately, showing excellent military skill that gained recognition worldwide.
Aziz also praised the Pakistani community in the UK, saying they acted as true representatives of Pakistan and showed strong support for the country.
Defence and Naval Adviser Commodore Jawad Khawaja and Army and Air Adviser Colonel Mohsin Waqar said Pakistan’s armed forces worked together in an “excellent manner” and stopped enemy plans while protecting the country’s sovereignty.
The statement also said Minister (Press) Ali Nawaz Malik briefed attendees that the Pakistan High Commission kept the British media informed during Marka-e-Haq and actively countered false claims spread through Indian media.
