The traders have given an ultimatum to the Punjab government to end the smart lockdown in the province. The traders also said that they will do a shutterdown strike if the government does not agree on their demand.

According to details, the trader community in Punjab has threatened to stage protests against the decision to impose a smart lockdown, giving the government a final deadline.

Trader organisations led by trader alliance leader Kashif Chaudhry held a press conference and warned that if the government did not immediately end the smart lockdown, they would launch strong protests.

The trader leaders said protests would be held in markets on Tuesday and Wednesday, while a future course of action would be announced if no decision was made by Friday.

Kashif Chaudhry said the decision to close markets at 8 pm had badly affected businesses, adding that traders were facing severe difficulties despite Eid approaching.

He alleged that traders were being pressured through paramilitary forces and urged the government to immediately end the smart lockdown.
The trader leaders further warned that a shutter-down strike could also be announced if an immediate decision was not taken.

Various trader representatives also attended the press conference and demanded that the government restore business activities to prevent further economic losses.
