Eid ul Adha likely on May 27 in Pakistan: SUPARCO

According to SUPARCO, there is a strong chance that the Zil Hajj moon will be sighted on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

According to the details, the new moon is expected to be born at around 01:01 AM on May 17.

By sunset, the moon’s age is likely to be around 18 hours and 30 minutes. It is generally considered suitable for visibility to the naked eye.

SUPARCO also said that the gap between sunset and moonset in Pakistan’s coastal areas is expected to be around 60 minutes. This will also increase the chances of crescent visibility if weather conditions remain clear.

The agency said Pakistan is likely to complete 29 days of Zil Qadah. This means the first day of Zil Hajj is expected on Monday, May 18, and Eid ul Azha is likely to fall on May 27.

However, the final announcement regarding the moon sighting and Eid date will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after its official meeting.
