Pakistani journalist Anas Mallick took to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, today to respond to a post by the international media outlet BBC World, stating that Pakistan has seen a 300 per cent increase in terrorist attacks and a 500 per cent increase in suicide bombings since the Taliban took charge in Afghanistan next door.

Further, he stated that Pakistanis have lost over 4 thousand citizens since their takeover.
He wrote that the Taliban sheltered terrorists, aided them, and allowed their terrorist activities to continue.
Adding that, ‘their families want to know why as well as to why did the Taliban shelter, aid and abet these terrorists to allow them to carry out their terrorist activities — Isolating one incident from the wider counter terrorism action is certainly disingenuous.’
Anas Mallick also wrote in his tweet that Pakistan lost more than 4,000 lives of its citizens after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, and their families also want to know who was behind these attacks and why the Taliban sheltered these terrorists and supported their activities.
Commenting on the BBC report, he said that isolating one incident from the broader counter-terrorism efforts is a disingenuous attitude.
‘India using Afghanistan for proxy war’
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Afghanistan has become a proxy for India, and India is conducting proxy warfare through Afghanistan.
In an interview, he said that both the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban are being supported by India. He added that Pakistan wants peace in the region and seeks to act as a good neighbour.
Khawaja Asif stressed that national interests should be prioritised over personal interests.
The Defence Minister also said that the Pakistan Army defeated India and “brought its arrogance to the ground,” adding that India will not dare to attack Pakistan again.
