Punjab Health Minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique, said that the Punjab government is providing the best treatment for heart diseases under the Chief Minister’s Adult Cardiac Surgery Program. The provincial health minister said that the medical facilities worth Rs 3 billion are being provided to the heart patients.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Dr Muhammad Furqad Alamgir, showed concern about the increasing rate of cardiac arrests in Punjab. Dr Furqad Alamgir also suggested that heart patients go for a regular checkup and suggested a morning walk on an empty stomach.

At the same time, Dr Muhammad Furqad also praised the initiative by the Punjab government and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for providing free treatment for heart patients. Dr Furqad also said that the Punjab government is providing free treatment in Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Lahore.

He stressed the importance of awareness about heart diseases and said that timely screening and early diagnosis can help prevent serious cardiac problems. He also highlighted the need for healthy lifestyle habits to maintain better heart health.

He advised people to take important precautions, including regular screening and medical checkups, eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, avoiding smoking and managing stress. He also urged the public to keep blood pressure and blood sugar under control to lower the risk of heart disease and maintain long-term heart health.

Earlier, the Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Centre will be the first fully free government cancer hospital in Pakistan, ensuring that no patient is denied treatment.
